INSTRUCTORS

Jason Brock

Owner/ Head Instructor

Jason is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a degree in Psychology. His career has been as a restaurant owner/operator, sales leader and entrepreneur. Jason has over 30 years of Martial Arts experience. Starting with Boxing as a child, wrestling and Kenpo in High School. In college, Jason was introduced toTraditional Jiu-jitsu and fell in love with the ability to subdue an opponent without having to strike and hurt them.

As an executive, he thought his martial arts career was complete. That was until he went to sign up his 4-year-old son, Lucian, into Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in 2013. Under Professor Jorge, a black belt under Master Pedro Sauer, he found Gracie Jiu-Jitsu much more efficient and relying less on strength and speed than his previous training in Traditional Jiu-Jitsu.

The teaching methodologies and curriculum structure lead Jason to want to open his own Academy and teach Self-Defense through Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. As a Certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Instructor as well as Certified Pedro Sauer Instructor he looks to bring these teachings to Decatur.

Off the mat, Jason loves spending time with his wife, Alora, and amazing children Lucian and Vivienne. All four of them train in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.

Bobby Smith

Instructor

From an early age, Bobby is what you would describe as a martial arts enthusiast. Growing up in Atlanta in the mid 80’s he was a fan of many martial arts TV shows and movies. Some of his early heroes were the likes of Bruce Lee, Sean-Claude Van Damme, and Steven Seagal. So it was no surprise that at the age of 8 he began training in Kenpo Karate.

As he came of age he maintained his passion for the combat arts by also training briefly in Taekwondo, Kick Boxing, Hapkido, and even a hybrid martial named Tae Kwon Jitsu. Until one day hoping to add a more extensive grappling pedigree to his repertoire he found Gracie Jujitsu. Now holding the rank of blue belt he hopes to give back to the art that has given him so much.

Bobby is a devoted father, business owner, and ambassador for the life-changing art of Gracie Jujitsu.
